The Frogfile Story
Canadians are one of the biggest generators of waste in the world and, across the nation, offices contribute nearly 10% of all waste to our landfills. Our rate of consumption is unsustainable and our landfills are maxxed out. Chemicals used to create office products made from vinyl, plastic and chlorine bleaching have enormously harmful impacts on us and our ecosystem.
Gil Yaron, founder and CEO of Frogfile, recognized this problem and wanted to do something about it. As a former lawyer and environmentalist, Gil spent the past decade working with investors advocating for greater corporate responsibility. Through his work, he recognized a growing desire by Canadian businesses to adopt more sustainable practices. He also observed the challenges that companies face in trying to source alternative products and reduce their environmental footprint.
“Consumers were having to search and source green products from many different suppliers, which was both time consuming and uneconomical,” says Gil. So, he started Canada’s first one-stop green office supply company to help businesses improve their operations—both environmentally and financially.
